This page is here to highlight some of the recent outstanding soccer accomplishments of the teams and players from within our club this seasonal year (and last).

U10 Boys playing U11 at the 2010 Disney Memorial Day Shootout - Semifinalist

The U10 boys played up in the U11 division at the 2010 Disney Memorial Day Shootout. They went 2-1-0 during group play, playing U11 teams from Florida and Missouri. They may have been out sized but they played hard all weekend long and made it to the semifinals where they feel short. They ended up in 3rd place at one of the top tournaments... Great Job Fusion!

2010 Disney Memorial Day Shootout - Champions

The Fusion96 U-13 girls dominated their first two opponents; defeating the Valrico Lady Raptors 2-0 and the FishHawk U-13 Select team 4-1. In their third game they played an extremely tough BAYSL Brandon Flames only to lose by one goal in the last thirty seconds of the game.

Advancing on to the championship game, once again they went up against the Brandon Flames. After going up by one goal in the second half, the Brandon Flames came back late in the game to tie the score 1-1 and the game was forced into overtime. After a tremendous effort by both teams in overtime, a shootout was anticipated but the Fusion96 girls rallied to score with two minutes left in the game and held on to the take home the championship!

MEGU U-13 Girls Palm Bay Spring Challenge

With an evenly matched division the Fusion 96 U-13 girls won there first match against Space Coast Storm 2-1 then went on to face the Indialantic Force which ended in a 1-1 tie.

On the second day of competition they played a very tough First Coast Academy team, with great goal keeping by both teams it ended in a 0-0 tie which was enough to send them on to the championship game. With Sunday's temperatures reaching the mid 90’s they once again faced First Coast Academy in the final match. Having gone up 2-0 by the half the girls took the field and maintained their lead until First Coast scored late in the half. With tremendous hustle and heart the Fusion96 girls held off a relentless attack to go on and win 2-1to take home the championship trophy!

U10 Boys Finalist in U11 Division at Palm Bay Spring Challenge

The U-10 boys, coached by competitive Director Victor Hernandez, playing up in the U11 Division played strong all weekend long.

They went 1-1-1 during group play and just fell short in the championship game.

U-11 BOYS TAKE 2nd PLACE, MIAMI LAKES SHOOTOUT

The MEGU U-11 Boys Comp team, led by Coaches David Bellows and Jonathon Franklin, placed second in the Bronze U11 boys category in the Soccer Skills Unlimited Miami Lakes Shoutout on April 17th and 18th.

Missing from the picture are Devon Marrone and Andres Rodriquez.

U14 Girls Finalist in the 2010 Region B Cup

The MEGU U-14 girls advanced to the final 4 of regional cup after performing well in the knock out round. In the first game of the knock out round MEGU faced a tough opponent in Indian River and after falling 1-0 at half MEGU girls rallied back to tie 1-1. In the second game MEGU beat the Orlando South Orange team a resounding 5-0, and in the 3rd game MEGU beat Indialantic 3-1. The entire team was outstanding thru out the weekend giving up only 2 goals while scoring 9.

In the Final 4 MEGU faced Port Orange, and the game became a clear shoot out, Port Orange took what looked like a commanding 2-0 lead, but the resilience of this team showed up again with their never die attitude and scored 1 before the half, and tied the game 2-2 at the start of the second half, only to see Port Orange score twice more, and force MEGU into a wild finish at 5-3. In the consolation game MEGU beat Indian River 1-0 and finished a respectable 3rd in regional cup play. Congratulations to the entire team for a great showing, and representing MEGU in outstanding fashion on and off the field.

MEGUFUSION U-17 GIRLS WIN CHAMPIONSHIP AT CASL

The U-14 Girls Comp team went to the Regional Cup Knockout Round in Ormond Beach, and came away with a first place finish in their group.

In the first match, against First Coast Academy Kyx the girls had to battle the elements and a 2-0 deficit at half time, but gritty determination and outstanding play and effort from every member on the team earned the team a 2-2 tie. The following day an 8 AM game against the Greater Osceola girls who were battling to stay in the competition, the team was eager to continue it’s fine play and scored an early goal that lead to 5-1 lead at the half and the score stood thru to the end. In the afternoon game the winning continued by beating the host team Ormond Beach Waves who were also fighting for a spot in the Challenge round. MEGU fended off some potent attacks and used some great combination play to seal the victory 2-0.

MEGU outscored their opponents 9-3 and built strength and confidence through-out the round. Outstanding defending and goalkeeping qualified us for first in group. Next stop is the Regional Cup Challenge Round Feb 27-28 at Palm Bay Regional Park.

U13 Girls Finalist at the 2010 Ormond Beach Challenge

The U13 girls participated in the Ormond Beach Challenge on January 16-17, 2010. They played Space Coast 331 and won 1-0; lost to FSA Freedom 96 0-1 then won against the FSA Freedom 96 in a second game on Sunday with a score of 2-1. The girls played Ormond Beach Waves in the championship game, but lost 0-1. With rain, wet fields, high winds and only 2 subs, the girls had a great showing at the tournament by making it to second place in the finals.

MEGUFUSION U-17 GIRLS WIN CHAMPIONSHIP AT CASL

Megu U-17 State Cup girls traveled to Raleigh, NC to play in the CASL Girl's Soccer Showcase Nov. 20th-22nd and came home with a Championship in the U-19 Division!

The team played in the Samba Elite Bracket and beat teams from Virginia, Pennsylvania and Michigan. Even after a layoff of over 1 month the girls controlled the tempo of all 3 games. Game 1 resulted in a 3-1 convincing decision for FUSION against Chantilly SC Electric (VA). Game 2 was against a Vincent United FC Valcor (PA). This was a very competitive game. The FUSION girls fought hard and came out with a 2-0 victory. The third game was against Premier Michigan Gator 92 Blue. The FUSION girls, again dominating field play but giving up a goal in the second half and ending in a 2-1 victory for FUSION.

The team record is now 16 wins and 2 losses and is ranked 7th in the State of Florida by GotSoccer. The next tournament is The Orange Classic in Weston FL Dec 27th - Dec 30th.

MEGU U17 GIRLS FINISH 2ND IN HCU ADIDAS CUP

Megu Fusion U-17 State Cupgirls finished 2nd at the HCU Adidas Cup Columbus Day tournament that was held in the Tampa, FL. After shutting out 3 opponents with combined score of 8 goals for to qualify for the Championship game, Megu was edged by the host team, HCU Black by a score of 1-0.

MEGU FUSION WINS FSL LEAGUE

Megu Fusion U-17 State Cup girl’s soccer team has won the Florida State League U17 Div II regular season championship with a perfect 6 wins and no loss season. Not only did they win the league they outscored their opponents 31-0!

In addition to the 6 wins in Div II league play they also won 3 inter-league games against Div I, shutting out Maitland 5-0, First Coast Kyx Blue 1-0 and Team Boca Navy 2-0.

U18 Girls Champions at Thanksgiving Classic 2009

Congratulations to our MEGU U18 Girls College Showcase team for becoming the CHAMPIONS at the 23rd Annual Plantation Thanksgiving Classic tournament.

Congratulations to our MEGU U11 Boys comp team for becoming the Continental Division CHAMPIONS at the Challenge Sports 2009 Fall Challenge tournament.

U10 Girls Champions at 2009 Labor Day Challenge

Congratulations to our MEGU U10 Girls, Continental Division CHAMPIONS at the 11th Annual Girls Labor Day Challenge. The girls went undefeated with a record of 5-0-0. Awesome job Fusion!

U10 Boys Finalist at the Seminole Boys Labor Day Tournament

Congratulations to the MEGU U10 Boys who were finalist at the 3rd Annual Seminole Boys Labor Day Soccer Tournament. The boys played great all weekend going 2-0-1 during group play and just falling short in the championship match. Great Job Blue!!!!!!
